Rattlesnake Golf Returns!

Nestled at the base of the Angeles National Forest and the only Nicklaus Design golf course in Los Angeles County, Angeles National Golf Club will once again be the location for the NIA-West Semi-Annual Rattlesnake Golf Tournament.

Angeles National features an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course with magnificent views, generous fairways and immaculate emeralde course presents a challenge for golfers of all skill levels with four sets of tees accommodating both the professional and beginner golfer. The course was ranked byTravel + Leisure Golf magazine as One of the Top 30 Best New Courses Worldwide and One of the Top Ten Best New Public/Resort courses in the U.S.

Although we've never actually seen one, a couple notes about the location. It is located at the edge of a wilderness area noted for beautiful wild vistas and beautiful wildlife...including that of the reptilian variety (thus the Rattlesnake Tournament):

  • If your ball goes into the wilderness area...it's time to take the penalty and drop a new ball. There are critters out there. You don't want to be poking around to find your errant ball when you can't be sure who you might disturb.
  • A "casual rattlesnake rule" is used if your ball is within the vicinity of a rattler. You can drop a new ball no closer to the hole, without penalty—then presumably swing fast and run like hell.

More specifics at the course.

Tee time is 11:45 am

Great Trophy and Fun!!
